Milford-on-Sea is a coastal village located in Hampshire, England, in the south-east corner of the New Forest National Park. It is a picturesque village with a long and interesting history, and an idyllic setting on the edge of the sea.

The village of Milford-on-Sea dates back to at least the early thirteenth century, when it is believed to have been established as a fishing village. It was mentioned in the manorial records of the Bishopric of Winchester in 1223, and was referred to as ‘Mileford'. It is thought that the name ‘Milford' comes from the Old English words for ‘ford' and ‘mile', referring to the ford across the Milford Haven Estuary.
